Prior to setting up LangSand Coaching in 2008, Merete was a teacher for 20+ years, working in the role of Assistant Head Teacher for the last 6 years, including a term as Acting Head Teacher for a school waiting for the new head to start.
In addition to her responsibilities within the school, Merete trained and mentored trainee and practising teachers and nursery nurses.
Merete is a fully qualified Master Coach, DISC profiler and trainer and NLP Practitioner.
In her work with Small Business owners, she helps them develop their plans, ideas and strategies, from time management through to handling staff issues and major business choices.
Her work includes coaching clients around public speaking and interview techniques; taking time out to make clear, informed decisions at key crossroads in life; making the most of networking opportunities and improving areas that cause dissatisfaction to the client.
She is an invited member of the Gatwick Diamond Initiative which is working to provide a world-class, internationally recognised business location achieving sustainable prosperity. She is on the Skills and Enterprise committee.
Clients have said they enjoy the way she challenges and moves them forward using a calm, gentle manner and sharing her sense of fun. In each case they have moved forward with clear focus and positive results.
In addition to her own business, Merete works closely with the Qualifications Director of The Coaching Academy on a freelance basis. She runs training courses for them and one of their team of Assessors of student coaches. She is a SFEDI qualified assessor.
